Unit 7-In the spotlight/a perfect lifestyle?




Last class we worked with Unit 7 (pgs. 64-66)
We talked about adverbs of frequency and daily routines.
Also, we had a short speaking test and a quiz on Unit 6.



Seldom=hardly ever


Remember:

I usually eat lunch at 12:30 (adverbs of frequency come before the main verb)

I don´t usually eat lunch at 12:30 (between negative auxiliaries and the main verb)

I am usually happy. (after the verb "to be")


I have/take a shower
I arrive/get home

Comparatives

An iron is smaller than a fridge.
A microwave oven is more expensive than a hair dryer.

Exceptions: good (better than)
                 bad (worse than)

Superlatives

A fridge is the biggest household object in a home.
A a big flat screen TV is the most expensive object in a home.

Exceptions: good (the best)
                 bad (the worst)

Chance meetings: a romantic story





November 2nd

  • Past simple (irregular verbs)
  • Past expressions (last week, yesterday, a year ago, etc.)
  • Physical descriptions (stocky, tall, fat, blonde, etc.)
Last class we worked with page 54 in the Student´s book and we reviewed some topics.
At the end of the class we listened to the song "Yellow" by Coldplay. 
There are many verbs in the past tense in this song.



Homework
